We wanted to do something this Labor Day weekend since we both had a long weekend and had no specific plans leading up to it. On Friday, we decided we’d make the front garden bed a little nicer looking, since it was looking a little overgrown:
So we decided we’d tear up most of what was in the current area, and replace it with something we liked a little more.
After we dug up the old plants, we added a retaining wall around the dirt, so it could hold the garden. The blocks were heavy, and took two trips to Home Depot. We needed a total of about 70 blocks, so we put 35 per trip, but even that was probably pushing it – my wheel was pretty close to the wheel well during the ride.
Once we laid the pavers, we added some top soil and spread it out evenly.
Finally, we planted all the flowers and watered them.
We’re happy with how it turned out, and once the tulip and daffodil bulbs start blooming next year, hopefully it will look even better!
Very nice. Did Scott do all the work and you watched ashley?
No! I did a lot of work, too! Scott just never took any pictures of me to prove it.
