It’s been three months since we’ve moved into our first home! I thought it would be nice to give everyone an update on how everything is coming along. We still have a few projects on our list, but we’ve been trying to save up and take it easy with big house projects the past few weeks. Here’s a glimpse of what our house looks like now. While you’re scrolling through the photos, feel free to play “Where’s Dexter and Riley?”.
You can really see how well our coffee table and side tables turned out in this picture. I was very apprehensive during the building process, but I’m very happy with the finished product.
In the picture above, you can see how we’ve really altered the bathroom, with just some paint, new hardware and new mirrors. We painted the current cabinets white and added silver knobs. We also bought two mirrors at Lowe’s and framed them and painted them white, as well. We still want to remodel the bathroom, but for now, this’ll do.
It’s amazing how much brighter and bigger the house looks and feels with the lighter paint colors. If you compare these current photos with the ones posted before, the difference is astonishing.
We’ve marked everything off of the list we created for ourselves after one month of being here, and then some, so now on to some bigger projects:
-Add built-in cabinets/shelving in the living room
-Add built-in bookcases, a desk and murphy bed to the downstairs bedroom
-Remodel the entire kitchen (including new hardwood floors, cabinets, counter tops, and appliances)
-Remodel both bathrooms (this is our lowest priority)
We’ve got a lot of large projects ahead of us, but we can’t wait! Continue to follow our progress and let us know what you think!
